Leaside Colts entered this match against a strong Ryan team looking to avenge their thrashing earlier in the season and show how much they had improved since the early season massacre. It was going to be difficult game for Colts who had the bare 9 players dueto injuries and unavailability, this was further compounded by key midfielder Junior struggling with a foot injury.

Colts started strongly as we have come to expect and Ryan seemed shocked at the early onslaught, Nelson testing the tall Ryan keeper in the 4th minute and jack doing likewise a minute later.

The deadlock was broken on 8 minutes,Teddy Feinted to shoot before smashing the ball low and hard into the bottom corner of the net, clearly heeding the advice given before Kick off in regards to shooting low against the impressive Ryan keeper. however Teddy soon hobbled off with a sore ankle which left Colts with 8 boys for almost 10 minutes, the boys still looked in control however, and fortunately Teddy was able to come back on.

Within a minute Archie went on a marauding run before his superb cross shot lacked the final touch going narrowly wide. on 15 minutes the dominant Colts went further ahead, great work on the left from the outstanding Kian saw his shot parried and Nelson like all go0d strikers quickly followed in the fire into the gaping net., Ryan were shell shocked, their rare attacks were quickly thwarted by the impressive back three of Samuel, Reece, and Archie.

Soon the third arrived, great work on the left by Archie saw him upended well outside the box. Jack stepped up to curl the ball into the far left hand corner for a much deserved 3rd goal .

Within two minutes Ryan broke away down the left, the Colts defence stopped as the seemed to run out of play, however despite being flagged by the linesman the ref deemed the ball not to have gone over the line and the resulting cross was well finished by the Ryan Striker to cut the lead to 3-1

Colts did not let this affect there play though and two further efforts from Kian almost made it four. on 36 minutes the game was wrapped up, great work from Nelson saw him lay off to Teddy who produced a brilliant piece of skill to chest the ball and strike a half volley giving the keeper no chance. within a minute Nelson again went close firing over with his left foot from an acute angel, before Teddy was denied his hatrick after a great strike rattled the post. The over worked Ryan keeper had time to make further saves from a Jack Volley, and further denied Kian Twice with brave relfex saves.

Ryan were giving everything though and Two Stunning point blank saves from Samuel Denied the Home team a consolation goal  as Colts were now looking tired without the ball against the quick Ryan Breakaways.

The fifth and final Colts goal came minutes from time, as Kian grittily reacted to his first shot being saved to smash into the net at the 2nd attempt, this rounding off a fantastic individual, and team performance.

The quaility of this performance from the boys cannot be underestimated, Playing against argubly one of the better sides in this league with a depleted squad the boys produced some outstanding Football ripping Ryan to pieces at times, this was a very enjoyable game between two sides intent on playing passing Football and credit should be given to the home team for never giving up and continuing to pass the ball despite the scoreline. This result goes to show the vast improvement in the team since the start of 2015.
